TOOLS MADE OF HSS GRADES USED FOR MACHINING

The manufacturing of tools made of high-speed steel grades for machining, accompanied the development of high-speed steels in the parent company of POLDI, at first only for internal use, then later making them commercially available.

Most popular are tool blanks having a square, rectangular, circular or trapezoidal cross section in a wide range of dimensions. Made of HSS, HSSCo5 and HSSCo10, these tool blanks correspond with the DIN standards – “Drehwerkzeuge”.

Rough turning tools (straight, side and cranked), finishing, corner, cutting-off, and necking tools. Keyway tools and threading tools are dependent on the size of the profile, manufactured as solid tools of HSS (profile 10x10mm, 12x12mm, 10x16mm), or butt welded of HSS and structural steel (16x16 to 40x40mm, 12x20 to 32x50mm). In certain cases a HSS plate is soldered to the body of structural steel. We can also manufacture special lengths as per customer´s specific needs.

Slotting tools are solid and made of HSS. In this sector, we can manufacture tools of typical lengths for various tolerances of grooves.

Revolving knives, planer tools and knives for jigboring machines are still an integral part of our manufacturing portfolio.

All tool types correspond to DIN standards.

An independent production cell can offer custom manufacturing. Special forming, necking, setting or adjusting tools for the machining of conventional and high-speed steel grades can be made and coated to customer’s own specification and design.
